What can I add to my knowledge library?
Custom AI supports PDF, DOCX, TXT, and Markdown files. PDFs need readable text; image-only scans are not currently supported through OCR.
Are my documents uploaded to your servers?
No. In the current Custom AI app, document indexing, retrieval, and AI answer generation happen locally. Your files stay stored on your computer.
Can I use it for my business?
Yes. You can use Custom AI with your business knowledge, such as procedures, reference guides, and project notes. It is a local app for your computer, not a shared team cloud workspace.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Document search and AI answers run on your computer, and your data stays local. Internet access is required to purchase, download, activate, and periodically verify your license. After a successful check, your subscription allows up to 24 hours offline. Any earlier license expiry still applies. License checks do not send your documents or questions to Polar.
How does the three-day trial work?
Start the monthly subscription through Polar checkout. You receive 3 days free, then pay US$20/month. A payment method is required. The subscription auto-renews unless canceled; cancel before the trial ends to avoid a charge. Your trial is managed by Polar, and you activate the app with your license key. Subscription changes are reflected at the next successful license check, so access changes can take up to 24 hours.
Should I check the answers?
Yes. AI can make mistakes. Review the retrieved document passages and confirm important claims against your original sources. Overviews of large libraries may cover selected sections rather than every page.
